Verdict
Whirlijig is the form pick to land the opener at the expense of Sirjosh and Whipma Whopma Gate. The selection is still winless after eleven outings but has not been discredited in defeat. He has come close on a number of occasions in handicaps and has now been dropped in grade for the first time. If he recaptures his best form he ought to have little trouble breaking his maiden tag in this seller. Sirjosh ran well to finish third in a similar contest at Leicester on his penultimate outing and was not beaten far in a better race at Kempton last time out. He is still only lightly raced and is open to further improvement so any market moves should noted. Whipma Whopma Gate has run well in the occasional race but has proved to be inconsistent. Most horses of that nature end up in selling races such as this and on his day he is more than capable. WHIRLIJIG looks the most reliable in the race and with luck in running is the percentage call.
