Poet's Dawn, a previous course winner, is 17lb lower than his last winning mark and has found some form again. SAFRAN has yet to win since arriving from France but placed twice over this course and distance last year off much higher marks. This looks his optimum trip and he can finally get his head in front. Hear Me Roar made a winning reappearance last year so fitness shouldn’t be an issue and Michael Dods also has a chance with top weight Deputy. Havana Party won at Hamilton two runs ago but course winner Rainbow Colours has become disappointing with Indy Moon, now sporting cheekpieces, more interesting.
