In depth
Verdict
A weak race to open the card at Ripon and it is probably best left to Blackwater Fever, who makes slightly more appeal than Pequenita, who has so far failed to run up to her reappearance effort at Lingfield in her three subsequent starts this term. The return to a more conventional course should see Blackwater Fever in a better light this evening and the Irish River colt, who is the pick of the weights on the official figures for the race, can maintain his stable's impressive strike-rate from the last two months. Think Quick and Colonel Telford are the best of the rest.
