Verdict
Mick Easterby's Bank Games and the Richard Fahey-trained Doitnow make limited appeal on their racecourse debuts and preference, in a poor finale, is for Kentucky Express, who is taken to confirm Haydock superiority over San Lorenzo. The selection stepped up on his debut effort when dropped back a furlong to today's trip at Haydock, running on well to finish a length-and-a-quarter behind Hawaajes with San Lorenzo half-a-length further back in third place. There should not be a great deal between the pair again but Tim Easterby's colt gave the impression at Haydock that there was a lot more to come from him and the son of Air Express is marginally preferred. Richard Whitaker's Harrington Bates ran promisingly on his debut at Doncaster last month and is entitled to improve but needs to to trouble the selection and a bigger threat may come from the reappearing Troodos Jet, who hails from a stable beginning to hit form. Chica Roca looks to have gone backwards, while the David Nicholls-trained Hamaasy makes limited appeal on his return in a race that is taken to go to Kentucky Express.
