In depth

Verdict

ATKINSON GRIMSHAW, runner-up in a much better handicap at Newmarket last summer, made a promising debut for Iain Jardine when just beaten at this level at Ayr and wasn't disgraced in a much better handicap at Haydock so gets the vote. Mutadaffeq is a consistent performer in this grade and is now 5lb lower than his last victory so looks certain to go well but Kajaki stays further and could find the ground a bit lively over this trip. Sea Youmzain completed a double on fast ground before beaten when odds-on at Beverley. She finished last at Chelmsford on her latest start but it wouldn't be a surprise to see her bounce back. Mr Sundowner needs to return to the form that saw him land a Class 2 at Catterick in September.
