Verdict

A tricky start to the card in which it may pay to stick with the figures; preference is for the 72-rated KNOW NO FEAR ahead of Gioaccchino and Officer Mor. Derek Shaw's four-year-old has not been seen for three months but if the market speaks in his favour on this return to action then he must go close in this lowly company. He has never dropped this low before and although he signed off with a poor run at Wolverhampton, a repeat of any any of his previous trips to Yorkshire should be enough to seal victory. Officer Mor has been in fairly good form albeit in lowly company; he represents a trainer in good form though and shouldn't be far away. Boundless Applause and Sally's Swansong are both fairly unexposed, but what they have shown is that both are modest, so of more interest may be Nawaaff. Although he has plenty to find on the ratings, his trainer would not send him here for nothing. Adab tries a visor, whilst Gioacchino is a bit hit and miss and having been kept very busy of late he is taken on here. Bold Account is a course and distance winner, whilst Sheik'n'knotsterd needs to bounce back to form. Not a race to dwell on perhaps but the win should go the way of Know No Fear.
