Verdict
It's a tough maiden that gets us underway and as it won't take much winning it might be a good opportunity for FIRST INSTANCE to win on debut ahead of Saucy Girl and Il Forno. Mark Johnston's debutants have been on good form and the run should continue with the selection, who is bred to be very successful as a two-year-old over sprint trips and with this looking a good level of introduction to racing. Saucy Girl held her form without really improving on her debut last time out and while she'll need to improve to score here the lines from her first run suggests she has the talent especially on these terms. Il Forno has plenty of speed and displayed that during a nicely run debut. He will win a maiden and should go onto better things. Danzoe was unbelievably disappointing when an odds-on favourite last time and if the excuse was the ground that day he won't fair any better in similar conditions here. Crushing is another you can give a mention to after a pleasing enough debut but we'll take a chance on the newcomer First Instance
