        Verdict

        Slaithwaite’s recent third here, when ahead of Simon's Smile, was his best run for some time and he must have a chance in a race like this. Ventura Bay needs forgiving a poor run here last time but has claims on earlier efforts at Windsor and Haydock. Myklachi improved in headgear at Carlisle but ARMS OF AN ANGEL wasn’t disgraced on her belated reappearance on Monday and makes a swift return to action. She should do better over this sort of trip this year.
