The shock Cesarewitch winner GRUMETI has run poorly over hurdles subsequently though in Grade 2 company and he's only 4lb higher than his victory at Newmarket so can go in again. Gavlar, who was almost 6l behind at HQ, reappeared with a solid run at Kempton but Gabrial's King was a long way behind in the big handicap and hasn't run since. The latter fought out the finish of a Listed handicap at Chester in August with stable companion Gabrial's Star and there's nothing between them again. The Chester Cup is the target for both but a victory is needed to be certain of a place in the line-up. Mirsaale produced an astonishing performance to make all for an 11l victory at Catterick for which he's been punished with a 13lb rise. That was over 1m6f on very soft ground and he's unlikely to be so dominant here.
