In depth
Verdict
Deuxieme is a progressive sort and can open his account now, with Bluebok, Millinsky and Nicholas Nickelby seen as the main dangers. Roger Charlton has been having a quiet time of late, but the success of Kind last week may herald an autumn upturn for the stable, and in any event, Deuxieme would be the one to beat here after such an unlucky run at Bath. The daughter of Second Empire failed to get a clear run when making her move inside the final furlong, and went down by less than a length at the finish. Admittedly, she did carry her head high, but ran on well and seems better suited to six furlongs than seven at present. She can make amends here, with Bluebok her main rival. David Loder' charge failed to stay seven furlongs at Warwick, finding Vonadaisy too strong at the finish, ad this drop back in trip should suit. Millinsky should appreciate the step up in trip after staying on stoutly over five furlongs at Salisbury, but has more to do in this company, while Nicholas Nickelby was beaten in a claimer last time. Granted luck in running this time, Deuxieme should prevail.
