In depth

Verdict

An open event but Knavesmire Omen may provide the answer ahead of Positive Profile, Prairie Falcon and Rahwaan. Mark Johnston's runners have been in need of their first outings so there should be plenty of improvement to come from Knavesmire Omen who weakened out of contention at Haydock last weekend. The four-year-old was a highly progressive performer last season scoring on no less than eight occasions and doesn't look harshly treated on a mark just 5lb higher than his previous victory. Positive Profile is a fairly consistent performer and ran well at Doncaster last month but is far from a straight forward ride and may have to settle for minor honours. Prairie Falcon was a creditable runner-up behibnd a well treated rival in the Queen's Prize last Saturday but may prove vulnerable to an improving type. Rahwaan is on a fair mark but may just need the outing on this occasion.
