In depth

Verdict

BETSEY TROTTER has hit a rich vein of form and landed a hat-trick with an emphatic win at Redcar last time. David O’Meara’s filly is taken to shrug off a further rise in the weights and go in again. Equiano Springs is best on the all-weather and looks high enough in the handicap on this surface but Brian The Snail is now back on a winning mark and drops in class today. Big Les finished in front of Dark Defender when posting a better effort at Pontefract last month but Gullane One’s recent third came in a lower grade sprint at Carlisle.
