Verdict

Neither Greek Renaissance nor Stonecrabstomorrow have done much wrong of late on the all-weather and both have to be respected back on turf although both are unproven on ground this soft and a safer option looks to Al Qasi, who gets the vote. The selection has yet to race on a soft surface but there is no reason why he should not handle the ground and Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt certainly lost no caste in defeat on good ground at Newmarket last time. He looks to be going the right way and makes much more appeal than Alan Swinbank's The Terrier, who has solid form but disappointed the only time that he has tackled a softer surface. Richard Fahey's Conrad has claims on the pick of his form but is inconsistent, while Mr Rooney has disappointed of late. That is not the case with Al Qasi though and he gets the vote.
