In depth

Verdict

Altenburg won't have to be anything special to land this maiden and he gets the confident vote over Jamehir and Mr Majestic. The selection is a colt by Saddler's Wells and he is bred to be quite useful. This is a weak race and it will be a surprise if this Godolphin colt is not good enough to get his head in front. Jamehir looks the best of those with racecourse experience but he is fully-exposed and it is difficult to see him getting the better of our selection. Mr Majestic was well beaten last time at Beverely behind Oblique and although this is an easier race he will need to improve to get competitive. This is not a race to get too excited about and Altenburg should be capable of making a winning debut.
