Verdict

Jason The Militant, a Grade 2 winner over hurdles, took advantage of heavy ground to score over this trip at Naas in October so some rain would aid his cause. Beamish beat a strong field in a 1m6f conditions race at Killarney and deserves a crack at this grade. LICENCE was narrowly beaten by the smart Layfayette in a Naas Listed contest and can’t have been right when well beaten behind that winner in the Group 2 Mooresbridge at the Curragh. Colin Keane chooses him over Yaxeni, who chased home the prolific Rosscarbery in the Munster Oaks at Cork. Anchorage has been racing in Group company since landing a Thurles nursery in October so takes a drop in grade.
