        Verdict

        Balkan Knight made a highly satisfactory reappearance and first start for David Elsworth when second at Epsom last week but preference is for Kempton winner Linens Flame, with Golden Quest the most interesting of the others. The selection ensured a test of stamina under similar underfoot conditions when making a winning return at the Sunbury venue and remains feasibly well treated despite a 10lb rise in the weights. Theatre is capable on his day but does not win very often and of more interest may be the John Manners-trained Jonanaud, who has a nice racing weight and for who the booking of Alan Munro takes the eye. Alan King's Precious Mystery will not mind the cut in the ground and she is another worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Linens Flame, who has ideal conditions and is taken to defy his 10lb rise.
