        Verdict

        OPERATIVE should be up to winning a race like this. He was placed in four of his six starts last year, including two at this track, and is the one to beat on his head second at Ascot on October when he finished ahead of Short Work. Mutarajjil should go well if transferring the form of his second at Kempton in November and Dark Shot went close on a couple of first occasions in his first season. Topology wasn't beaten far when fourth at Newbury in the autumn and is preferred to Kempton third Dream Farr of the others.
