In depth

Verdict

MR GENT was easy to back on debut at Yarmouth but shaped with plenty of promise. He’ll know more today and can hold off the Richard Hannon trio of which Tullyallen, slowly away at Newmarket, may prove the pick ahead of Roundhead and Sir Leonard Kitter. Jamil cost 240,000gns as a foal but changed hands for less than half of that earlier this year. Consultant was bought for 140,000gns but has already been gelded, though is still worth a market check.
