Verdict
The first division of the maiden can see A Very Good Year make up for an expensive Lingfield defeat, with Dash For Cover providing the obvious threat, although one or two others have to be borne in mind. Sent off the 11/8 favourite on the all-weather back in early May, the selection has obviously shown promise at home. Also, his efforts on the track clearly stand up to inspection in a race that lacks strength in depth. Dash For Cover might appreciate the drop back to seven furlongs following a good Chepstow run, For Freedom may have needed her Chester return and hails from a strong stable, while Pearl Park is better than his Kempton run last time suggested (Senza Scrupoli was behind him that day) as he stumbled leaving the stalls. Munaafis, who is out of a daughter of the great Salsabil, is bred for the game but showed little on her debut, while Tamweel is bred to need further than this seven furlong trip.
