      Verdict

A field packed with consistent performers who are nevertheless finding winning difficult, all of which makes for a competitive contest. Steeve looks fairly treated on the back of a couple of improved efforts but the Ed Walker yard continues to roll along nicely enough and this may be the day on which his reliable gelding STARFIGHTER finally comes good. The form of his recent Yarmouth runner-up performance was notably boosted by a subsequent convincing success from his conqueror that day and he should be involved at the business end at least. Glory looks best of the Hannon pair, with Miss Blondell and Global Express also noted.
