Verdict

Surprisingly, given he's so prolific at this track, Richard Hannon has yet to win any division of the six previous renewals. BOTANICA can put that right today as she's gone close in all three starts to date, including a better race at Goodwood last time. She can deservedly open her account here ahead of Poor Duke, a runner-up at Yarmouth last week. Anecdote didn't show much improvement when second at Newbury recently but Captain McCaw, Laudate Dominum and Gilded Frame all have scope after promising introductions. Sorella Bella has also shown enough to suggest she can figure again.
