In depth

Verdict

Summer Recluse gets the nod over George The Second and Goodenough Mover, with Bobby Rose and Drumming Party seen as the other main contenders. Summer Recluse did not enjoy his last visit here in May when he veered left coming out of the stalls, finishing last of 17 in the end. However, since then he has bounced back with a couple of good efforts, notably when unlucky-in-running at Brighton last week. Still well handicapped, he can prove best of the Milton Bradley trio to come out on top. George The Second has topweight after three decent runs on the all-weather, but is not out of it, and nor is Goodenough Mover. The latter is at the twilight end of his career now, but has been pretty consistent in defeat. Bobby Rose would have been closer had he not drifted to the far rail at Windsor last time, and he can make a bid for the frame again, while Drumming Party, a class 5 winner at Newbury last year, should by now be spot on and is not badly handicapped at present. They are the leading fancies then, with Summer Recluse earning the vote.
