In depth

Verdict

George Morland overcame inexperience to gain a surprise victory over the trip at Kempton for which he's penalised. Lafan made a bright start at Doncaster and started a short-priced favourite on the Polytrack at Lingfield but didn't make the expected progress. Major Force showed a bit of promise at Kempton but was a 100/1 chance when making massive improvement over an extended 5f at Bath where he stayed on at the finish. GREAT NEWS is by Shamardal out of the Lowther and Falmouth winner Nahood who has already produced three winners so the Godolphin colt can enjoy a successful introduction. Bluebird Day has an ideal pedigree for this trip and is another newcomer to note.
