Richard Hannon's string is not exactly firing on all cylinders at present but it will be a surprise if EQTIRAAN is beaten here. He beat subsequent Champagne Stakes winner Rivet when winning his maiden at Ascot and possibly found 7f a shade too far when only third in the Solario Stakes at Sandown. Scorching Heat will handle conditions but has only won a Ffos Las maiden so far. Smokey Lane has been keeping good company but looks thoroughly exposed and Bahamadam hasn't built on her win at Windsor. Shawami was still beaten nine lengths when second at Newbury but should strip fitter here.
