Verdict

The day's feature has attracted a strong entry with the weights headed by Captain Cat, a former Group 3 winner. But he's changed stables since finishing second to Gabrial on soft going at Windsor in June. There are doubts about whether Windshear is as good as he once was and he was behind Landwade Lad at Doncaster. Captain Morley is still 8lb higher than his last winning mark but Zamperini has only been raised 5lb for winning at Sandown and Beach Bar appears to be running into form. For some reason, FIDAAWY didn't fire last time at Goodwood but had won easily at Doncaster when allowed to dominate. He could be tough to peg back here if getting to the front. Master Carpenter is preferred to Storm Rock of the others.
