      Verdict

Ivanhoe has been showing signs of life lately but the handicapper refuses to relinquish his grip. Burning Desire bids to give Richard Hughes a first winner as a trainer having shown promise when with Mike De Kock, but he has no form on ground this soft. Fitzwilly stays further but was only beaten two lengths over course and distance off a higher mark in June while Kirtling won at Leicester in the same month but failing to handle a step up in class at Epsom. JACK BEAR overcame a slow start and trouble in-running to open his account when upped in trip at Lingfield. If he can transfer that improvement to Turf, he could defy a 7lb rise in the weights.
