Verdict

Good to see a northern raider with strong claims in the shape of Baywing, one of the most improved horses in training this season. Unbeaten in four handicap starts, he's been raised a total of 46lb for those victories, all of which have been achieved under testing conditions. He should be competitive again as he impressed once more the last time but it remains to be seen if he's as effective on what should be better conditions than he's experienced this term. Yala Enki was extremely resilient and tough in landing the Lanzarote and should give another resolute account but IBIS DU RHEU, third that day, is 7lb better off here and might just be better suited to the longer trip. He remains open to improvement on just this fifth start for Paul Nicholls.
