Verdict
Biotic, Scrutiny and Almanack arrive on the back of a victory and are preferred in that order, the former having quickened up sweetly to oblige at Leicester latest. However, he's down 2f in trip now and has yet to win over 1m. The other two are upped in class and will almost certainly have to improve. Joanna Mason has a fine record, predominantly in the north, in such contests and should get a good spin from Mach One. Nevertheless, this is the first time the gelding has tackled turf for the Watson yard after ten successive starts on artificial surfaces and we'll let him run. MICHELE STROGOFF (NAP) has put together five really consistent and competitive efforts since joining Michael Appleby and can gain a deserved success despite topweight with trip and ground ideal for the Aqlaam gelding.
