Verdict
Zowington was only run out of it close home over course and distance under similar conditions last month and, off just a 2lb higher mark, is taken to go one better with the well-drawn pair Angel Sprints and Bowness rated the main dangers. The selection is less exposed than most of these, clearly handles cut in the ground and now has the assistance of the in-form Eddie Ahern in the plate. Chinalea beat Owington by a head in that race here last month and has to be respected on just 1lb worse terms, while Sentiero Rosso goes on the ground but may need some more help from the handicapper. Dixieanna has disappointed since making a winning return at Doncaster in May and of more interest may be top weight Angel Sprints, who tackles a soft surface for the first time but may improve for it. Meikle Barfil has to be respected first time in a handicap, while Auwitesweetheart has claims but may need dropping a couple of pounds. Bowness has a great draw and is another open to improvement but Owington has an obvious chance following his most recent start and gets the vote.
