Verdict
In the opener, Balian gets the call over Gwylim and Spectacular Show. Eversden is seven pounds better off for the near-three lengths he finished behind Gwilym over course and distance last time. It might not be enough to turn things around, although a five-pounds higher mark for the latter makes things tougher for him too. It is interesting that Spectacular Show, who is due to be dropped three pounds in the ratings, takes his chance given that situation, so his participation could be viewed as a positive. Balian remains consistent and is weighted to beat Gwylim based on earlier Windsor form, although that was over five furlongs. Tamino has something to find on that form. On August 5th form, Gwylim just holds Jucebabe and Montzando so, as you can gather, we are dealing with some small fractions here and, as is often the case with sprint handicaps, these horses win in their turn. Today it might finally prove to be the turn of Balian.
