In depth

Verdict

PALACE PIER made an impressive winning debut over course and distance last month and looks to have little to fear from these despite the penalty. He can continue winning ways before taking up one of next month’s entries in Group 1 races. Mars Landing has over eight lengths to find with the latter though should finish closer today and is preferred to Summeronsevenhills. Southern Dancer is related to five winners while fellow newcomer and 280,000gns purchase Balzac is an early Derby entry.
