Verdict
A competitive field goes to post for the Royal Artillery Gold Cup and the principals look to be Flat Top, Gunner Welburn and Satshoon and the confident vote goes to Satshoon. The gelding from the Paul Nicholls yard won well last time out when defeating Cassia Heights and with the drop in trip sure to be no problem he will be hard to beat.Gunner Welburn rates the main danger on his win in the Rowland Meyrick when defeating Skippers Cleuch. However he disappointed last time and can not be backed with any confidence. Flat Top has been laid out for this race and he runs well fresh but he is prone to shoddy jumping. Of the remainder Mercato is from a yard in form and has conditions to suit but for the winner we return to Satshoon.
