Verdict

The veteran Ginger Jack, the winner of a dozen races, was having his first start for new connections and reappearing after a long break when just failing to concede Mutahaady in this grade at Redcar. He should be better for the run though could have done without a 1lb rise. Captain Courageous has been making progress and gained his third win of the year in a Class 4 at Haydock though a 5lb rise makes this more difficult. Make Time, a Salisbury maiden winner in September, didn't run badly on his only subsequent start behind Barney Roy in the Greenham and this represents a huge drop in class. SELECTION put a poor run on soft ground at Newmarket behind him with an impressive victory at Yarmouth where he won easing down. He's up 5lb but can complete a double as Volatile has only won on the all-weather.
