In depth

Verdict

Soaring Eagle, a daughter of Gleneagles, is one to keep onside on debut, but a number of her rivals have already displayed promise. Annie Maher has undergone wind surgery since posting a promising runner-up effort at Ascot on debut in May, and Mehme should be all the better for a satisfactory Nottingham debut when showing good pace before fading late on. Mission Storm and Miss Altitude appeal as nursery types unless the market speaks otherwise but the vote goes to MRS U S A. The Boughey filly has twice had the misfortune to run into the speedball that is Lady Hollywood but has been comfortably clear of her remaining rivals on both outings, the first of which has been franked by the nursery victory of Puffable, who finished a length behind the selection at Lingfield last month.
