Verdict

Data Protection is 5lb higher than when landing this 12 months ago but can front-run and is well drawn if Nicola Currie decides to make the running again. However, he’s closely matched with Sky Defender on Goodwood form and has become increasingly uncooperative at the start. Pivoine never got competitive here last month but the quicker going should help while the three-year-old Poet Of Life is sure to attract support making his handicap debut. KING OF CLUBS has been generally progressive and has form on the track. Hollie Doyle will be hoping he settles better than he did trying this trip at Newmarket but he should again beat Inigo Jones and is probably still on a fair mark. Soto Sizzler and Faylaq would have preferred another quarter-mile.
