In depth
Verdict
Fine Silver is selected to defy topweight over Royal Prince, Cimyla and Nero's Return. Fine Silver came back with a bang when mastering Common World in the Spring Cup at Newbury last week, and could be up to Listed class this season. Trainer Paul Cole fancied him strongly that day, and with ground conditions perfect for him, the son of Intikhab should go close. If successful here, he may well be aimed at the Hambleton Cup at York so make note. Royal Prince has been well galloped in readiness for his return and his win at Newmarket last October showed that he should pay to follow. Cimyla threw away a winning chance at Pontefract by hanging to the left inside the final furlong, and this hold-up performer will need luck in running if he is to turn the tables on his conqueror. Appalachian Trail was found wanting in the Lincoln, but he will win a decent handicap one day, not on this occasion though, as Fine Silver sets the standard and can follow up.
