Verdict

Hawridge King, a winner over this trip at Salisbury last time can land back-to-back victories where Rajeh and Trachonitis, third behind the selection last time out appear the biggest dangers. Hawridge King had indicated that a return to winning ways beckoned when putting in a very good effort at Haydock on his penultimate start. He stepped up on that with that victory last time out and although aged six, it could well be that he is coming to his peak now. Rajeh relishes quick ground and those conditions ultimately aided his cause at Doncaster. That was his first attempt at staying trips on the level and he will take quite a bit of beating. Trachonitis had very few excuses behind Hawridge King last time and it could be that he is now in the grip of the handicapper. Salute competes off the same mark that saw him land a moderate all-weather handicap at the beginning of this month. He is also a course and distance winner but at the age of nine it would be a surprise if he were good enough to beat his younger rivals. Hawridge King is the selection to land the finale.
