    Verdict

    Three of the last seven runnings of this Derby trial have gone to the Gosden yard but Snoano came up well short in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October. However, he is still preferred to Master Apprentice, who is not entered in the Derby as yet, and neither is COMMEMORATIVE. But that may change if the latter wins today and he ran well despite finishing only seventh in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita last time having won the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket earlier. Cape Clear Island returned a surprise winner in the Tattersalls Millions Trophy last week were he overcame much higher rated horses and is obviously on the upgrade.
