Verdict
Forceful Appeal held on well at Ascot but will need to take a further step forward to complete his hat-trick. Secret Art is only 3lb higher than when scoring at Windsor while Midhmaar should find a handicap this year but El Vip pulled much too hard at Haydock after his third at Bath and his yard have yet to strike form. MAKZEEM is 3lb better off than when beaten a length by Greenside at Newmarket in October and has also had the benefit of a recent run, finishing second at Wolverhampton. The booking of Ryan Moore suggests connections mean business tonight so he gets the nod head of the returning Laidback Romeo and Timeless Art.
