Verdict
Indian Creek is a class act at this level and is preferred ahead of Carnival Dancer, Izdiham and Bourgainville. The David Elsworth-trained Indian Creek relishes a fast surface as he showed last term when landing the Group 3 Earl Of Sefton at Newmarket before finishing a highly creditable runner-up behind Grandera in the Prince Of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot. A pleasing introduction behind Parasol at Lingfield in late February will have helped to sharpen him up and he looks the one to beat as long as the forecast rain doesn't get in to the ground. Carnival Dancer has had his problems but is a talented performer and has claims on his fourth in last year's Champion Stakes and, along with Imperial Dancer, will appreciate any ease in the ground. The lightly raced Izdiham was a progressive type last year but has been off the track since last July and may be suited by further. Bourgainville appeared to put up a much improved effort in Listed company at Kempton earlier in the week but may have been flattered with some fancied runners below their best on that occasion.
