    Verdict

Ashgan has been lightly campaigned in recent times but has been well placed to win three of his last five starts and was particularly impressive when landing a Worcester handicap chase in June. The nine-year-old was disappointing on his next start over fences but injured himself early on and is handed the TEAMtalk vote to gain compensation. Mapleton scored back-to-back victories at Southwell and Hexham earlier this term but now looks in the handicapper's grip judged on his most recent start so the fairly treated Specialize, who shaped promisingly last time, may prove the the main danger.
