In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Hurlers Cross, Chukchi Country amd Burren Moonshine and the narrow vote is given to Hurlers Cross. The selection was slightly unlucky when nailed on the line by Blue Sovereign on Sunday. He again has conditions to suit and off the same mark here he looks the one to be on, as he looks sure to rise in the weights when reassessed. Chukchi Country rates the main danger as he goes particularly well at this track and he won well last time when beating Emerald Destiny. However that form has since been let down and as he is unproven over a trip this far he looks opposable. Burren Moonshine would have a chance on his best form but he has been let down by his jumping of late so he cannot be put forward with much confidence. High Gear is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he looks weighted up to his best. Looking Forward was third behind Chucki Country last time out and was doing all his best work at the finish so he could go well at a price. Of the remainder Wise Tale was second behind Fort Ord last time and is another with place claims but Hurlers Cross looks ahead of the handicapper and he is taken to score.
