In depth

Verdict

Rikoboy placed again when favourite at Plumpton on his reappearance but is now 0-11 and surely vulnerable again. Sir Canford showed promise over hurdles at Newbury and Kempton around the turn of the year and won on the Flat at Chepstow in August but STORMIN NORMAN looks to hold stronger claims. Successful in a bumper last year and twice a winner on the Flat, he has looked as good as ever since returning from a break, winning over 2m at Musselburgh and over 1m6f at Catterick, and could be one to follow on the northern circuit this winter. Conundrum was rated 76 on the Flat last year when with Jedd O’Keeffe but had wind surgery in January and has recently switched stables
