Late Date runs his best races here and is a dour stayer. Despite a big weight, he can’t be ignored having had a pipe-opener with Billy Garritty taking off 5lb. Alexander Fielding takes 7lb off BURNING ISSUES, who also goes well here. Sue Smith’s veteran produced a solid staying performance over track and trip in August and could go close again as long as there isn’t any rain. The Late Legend has been knocking on the door and Friends Don't Ask ran well for a long way at Fontwell and still has scope over fences. Dutch Canyon also has a squeak but is hard to catch right.
