In depth
Verdict
This looks a good opportunity for Bramlynn Brook to regain the winning thread, with Diamond Vein and Jack Martin set to fight out the places. Following victories at Plumpton and Towcester, Bramlynn Brook just failed to land the hat-trick when outstayed by Oysterhaven at Fontwell at the end of December. It wasn't a bad effort as he was conceding 12 pounds to the winner. Today's opposition doesn't look too strong and another victory looks within his grasp. Diamond Vein is making his hurdles debut following four bumper efforts, including a victory here a year ago. The main concern with this rival is that he hasn't seen a racecourse since last March. Jack Martin showed plenty of promise in bumpers and would have been involved in the finish at Haydock on his hurdles debut but for falling at the third from home. The others have very little to recommend them so Bramlynn Brook is a confident selection.
