      Verdict

A poor race where Vallica will probably be good enough to go one better than her two recent seconds, with Somewin and Cody perhaps others who could get involved. Vallica has the assistance of Tony McCoy from the plate, and that booking should be the catalyst for success, providing that the champion can elicit at least a modicum of improvement from the mare's last two runs. If he does, then we expect her to be up to the task. Somewin steps up in trip after a 2m 5f success in a poor contest last time, this looks tougher, but at least she knows how to win and she can again go well. Nothing else inspires confidence, though Cody has shows glimpses of form and may be up to some placed money if handling faster ground, but in a race not to dwell too long on, we take Vallica to score.
