In depth
Verdict
Lord Alyn scored well last time in selling company and, with his confidence high can score again at the expense of Direct Descendant, In Good Faith, Ball Games and Milan King. The Charlie Egerton-trained selection looked well handicapped that day and the same applies here as he has just a seven-pound penalty to defy before being reassessed. Direct Descendant, back to near a winning mark, In Good Faith, whose course and distance win from Mantilla in September reads very well, and Ball Games, who is two pounds better off for the six lengths that Direct Descendant beat him at Hexham in October and is now fitted with first-time cheekpieces, all hold claims but Love Kiss is struggling to win from a revised mark. Milan King is meeting In Good Faith on the same terms as when beating him seven lengths over today's course and distance in July so a repeat of that obviously brings him into it too. Cooling Castle would be interesting if there is a market move but the others need to improve a good bit on what they have so far shown. For the selection then, it's Lord Alyn.
