In depth
Verdict
Another open affair in a race in which most of the horses have become disappointing of late. Bergamo, Golden Thunderbolt and Del Trotter have all been in fair form in a minor grade of late but a chance is taken on Big Wheel. The gelding would have won over fences last time out but for taking a heavy fall. The return to hurdles should suit and with conditions in his favour he will be hard to beat. Bergamo would win this easily on his best form. However although he has been in fair form on the AW he has not translated those efforts over timber and for that reason he is opposed. Golden Thunderbolt ran well last time out but his best efforts of late have come with more cut in the ground and he is not sure to get the easy lead he likes in this contest. Del Trotter is another that could go well but he has never won over a trip this far before and he may not last home on this very stiff course. Of the remainder Over The Hill is from a shrewd yard and is worth a cautionary look in the market.
