In depth

Verdict

Arthur's Sixpence has won his last three and will be going up more next week than the 7lb he is penalised here but this is a bit more competitive and he may not be much of a price. River Frost hasn't sparkled this summer but continues to plummet down the handicap while Stratford runner-up Oscar Rose is well treated on her hurdles form. Canton Prince had no luck in-running on his reappearance at Southwell while Kitty's Light won easily at that track on his debut over the larger obstacles. But it might be a shrewd move to drop the front-running ALEXANDER THE GREY back in distance as he hasn’t been getting home over 3m lately. Lilly Pinchin gets on best with the nine-year-old, who is only a pound higher than for his sole victory at Ludlow last season.
