In depth

Verdict

Camino Mission was a 66/1 chance in a big field of maidens over 1m2f at Navan in March but made good late headway and normal progress should see him in the firing-line. Play The Crowd was a 125/1 chance in the same race but belied his odds with a cracking effort, making good ground to lead 1f out before headed inside the final furlong. Xeres, who started at much shorter odds that day, got upset in the stalls and never showed. Hell Bent took a big step forward when tackling good ground for the first time at Leopardstown so has to be on the shortlist while Lifetime Legend was well supported at Cork and overcame hitting a flat spot to stay on strongly. PRAIRIE DANCER was a short-priced beaten favourite in three starts last summer but ended the campaign with a good run in a lucrative auction race at Naas. He's out of a winner over this trip so gets the nod to make a successful reappearance
